ACTIVITIES

21 May 2007: Seminar "African-Nordic collaboration on
Sustainable Forest Management" organised jointly by the
“Sustainable Forest Management in Africa” Project and the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry. Place: Stockholm, Sweden.

More information about this Seminar - click here.

The purpose of this seminar was to provide an opportunity for the forestry sector in Africa, through the founding members of the African Forest Forum, to present its views and ideas on priority needs and challenges to Nordic partners and colleagues. It is hoped that, through existing partnerships, revitalising of old ones and creating new ones, it will be possible to open dialogues on opportunities for fruitful African-Nordic collaboration on any relevant aspect of Sustainable Forest Management in Africa.

Better co-ordination of efforts, intensification and consolidation would yield more results and be of benefit to both Africa and the Nordic countries. This initiative comes at a time when African forestry stakeholders are much better organised and more aware of their regional as well as global forestry issues.
