Tandem Forest Values – second call
Forest resources, wood-based value chains and wood construction
The first Tandem Forest Values call was a great success. Now a second call has opened under the Tandem Forest Values Programme. Apply no later than 9 September 2019.
Once again the programme aims to support early-career researchers in Finland and Sweden.
The funding is approximately EUR 4 million altogether and the overall themes of the call are forest resources, wood-based value chains and wood construction. More specifically:
- forest biomass production
- forest management planning
- new methods and technologies
- new sustainable products and processes
- wood construction
The research project at hand must build on, or lead to, an active collaboration between research groups at universities or research institutes in Finland and Sweden within any of the overall research themes.

The research program Tandem Forest Values was initiated in 2018, in order to strengthen bilateral collaboration between researchers within forestry and forest industry in Finland and in Sweden. The program resulted in 12 postdoctoral positions, selected from 72 high quality applications.
Finland and Sweden are jointly funding the second call with equal amounts. Funders include the Academy of Finland, the Swedish Research Council Formas, the Kempe Foundations, the Wallenberg Foundations, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Finland and the Ministry of the Environment of Finland.
