The talk will take as a starting point some of today’s many challenges; war in Europe, disruptions in international trade, the effects of the Covid pandemic, the spread of African Swine Fever and malign information influence campaigns.

In recent times, Nordic cooperation on preparedness has strengthened, for instance regarding food security and epizootic diseases. How does Finland’s approach on preparedness and security work, and which issues are given high priority?

Outside of Finland, the country’s preparedness for various challenges is often cited as an exemplary model. Why is this the case, and how is it rooted among the public?

”Be Prepared!” – from a Finnish and Nordic perspective, what are the key issues that will take centre stage over the coming year?

Presenter Academy Fellow Associate professor Göran Dalin.
