The Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry has launched a new committee on Forest production in a changing climate that will be working during three years, 2025–2027. The committee’s mission is to explore and clarify the necessary measures to ensure that Swedish forests remain vital and continue to produce fibre-based raw materials in a changing climate.

The goals are to:

• Identify strategies and measures to achieve vital and stable forests in a changing climate to produce fibre-based raw materials.
• Highlight the effects of different strategies and measures on biodiversity and various ecosystem services.
• Identify opportunities and obstacles for implementation.

As a starting point for the work the committee have invited scientific experts within the fields of climate scenarios, tree health and growth to this roundtable meeting. The aim is to discuss the state-of-the-art knowledge within these fields and how they interact.
