The Bertebos Prize, SEK 400,000 (approx. EUR 36,000), aims to reward innovative and ground-breaking research and development within the area of agriculture and food research.
This year, the Bertebos Prize wants to emphasize candidates within research and development that has made significant contributions to the interface between ecology and food production. The focus will be on research of high scientific quality, high innovation and relevance for the value chain, and of importance for achieving improved sustainability. Candidates should have contributed to significant research and development in the interface between ecology and food production.
Food production and processing encompass the ecology of growing crops for food and feed and keeping animals for production. Ecology is important to the entire value chain, from agriculture to food production and distribution. In this perspective, advancements of processes in producing and distributing food products must be achieved with sustainable and responsible operations that build on ecological principles.
