Bioeconomy developments are key for the transition from a fossil-based economy to a society built on renewable resources. Yet, the bioeconomy is interpreted and advanced very differently in different parts of the world, and in pursuit of a variety of goals, from climate change mitigation to rural livelihoods, gender equality and business development.
Welcome to a webinar organised by KSLA, which will investigate different pathways to the bioeconomy, presenting and contrasting examples from Sweden, Eastern Africa, and Colombia; discussing how bioeconomy can be turned into action through national and regional strategies, and highlighting the role of science and innovation in a knowledge-based bioeconomy.
The meeting is organized by the KSLA Board Committee for Research Issues.
