KSLA-podden: Future Food Systems – genetic engineering in future agriculture

POD CAST: Changing climate needs new tools to secure future crops. Professor Pamela Ronald, keynote speaker in the webinar ”Future Food Systems” on 15 October, talks about the possibilities of genome editing in future agriculture in this pod cast by Annika Åhnberg and Anders Nilsson.

This webinar will put gene editing within plant breeding into its context in different parts of the world – with a special focus on the European Union – and focus on how these tools can contribute to improved food systems.

The webinar was an initiative from the KSLA-project Växtnoden (the Plant Node). The meeting put gene editing within plant breeding into its context in different parts of the world – with a special focus on the European Union. It focussed on how these tools can contribute to improved food systems. Speakers were professors Pamela Ronald, Joachim von Braun, Jonathan Jones, Dennis Eriksson, and Lisa Sennerby Forsse. The meeting was organised by the KSLA Fellows Annika Åhnberg and Anders Nilsson.

The KSLA Plant Node Project (Växtnodsprojektet) aims at developping a more constructive dialogue with EU politicians in the field of genome editing. The project is led by Annika Åhnberg, KSLA fellow and former Minister of Agriculture.
