Skogsavdelningen inleder hösten med första akademisammankomsten, ”Climate Policy and Future Forestry in Northern Europe”. Den hålls på engelska och är endast för akademiens ledamöter och särskilt inbjudna gäster.
The future of forests, forestry and foresters in northern Europe is intimately connected to the global context that features climate transformation, innovation and new technologies, changing consumption patterns, and the overall pursuant of all aspects of sustainable development. This gives rise to both challenges and opportunities which can both create friction and catalyse responses. A key aspect in advancing discussions is a shared system perspective, across all needs and possibilities, actors and stakeholders.
The presentations will address aspects and examples of the evolving policy, response and expectations related to unfolding developments over the near-term and the long-term, with a view on challenges and possibilities for forest management. The reflections and experiences of stakeholders will provide further focus and perspectives. Welcome!
